REPORT OF THE “HOBBIES
ON LINE” S.I.G. MEETING What is Zentangle? http://www.zentangle.com/ Visit this web site for more ideas. Zentangle method is a way of creating beautiful images from repetitive patterns. It is fun and relaxing. Almost anyone can use it to create beautiful images. It increases focus and creativity, provides artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal wellbeing. The Zentangle method is enjoyed all over this world across a wide range of skills, interests and ages. (Taken from their web site.)
Members have been asked to create a design and bring it to the next meeting where a vote will be taken of the best creation. The winning design will be put onto SeniorNet Canterbury web page for all to see. A member had tried to create a crochet rose. A video was downloaded from YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=94vYpcZ3W64 for all to view. The video is 20 minutes long but has full instructions to create an “easy pretty rose”. Gale Fursdon demonstrated how to create an iron on transfer. A design was printed on a printer and transferred to cloth. The special transfer paper can be purchased from Warehouse Stationery. The iron must be very hot for the transfer to attach to the cloth. The image is reversed so this has to be taken into account when creating the transfer. A very interesting and creative meeting. All members of SeniorNet Canterbury are welcome to attend this HOBBIES ON LINE Special Interest Group meeting The meeting date for this group is the fourth Thursday of each month. The next meeting is to be held on 25 MAY 2012 starting at 12 noon in the computer room at the Ferrymead Computer centre.
