Chairman’s Message Yes can you believe it we have moved on two months since our Annual General Meeting? My learning curve as your Chairman has been swift, but it is a thrill to have such a loyal and supportive team around one. Your executive has been very busy in their various capacities making positive steps for the future as we endeavour to consolidate our position at Ferrymead. It is nice to see a steady stream of enquiries coming in from around the local area. I
would like to let members know of some of the duties 1. Training: This area covers the courses / workshops and tutors always looking to improve and update for the benefit of the membership. Recently three new tutors have agreed to join our ranks and we welcome Ray Sheridan, Gordon Heyward and Brent Savage.
2. Publicity:
Important, without such we would not be known and gain new members. At
present there is a strong
3. Course
Co-ordinators: They take care of the Tutors 4. Administration and Finance: As the title suggests oversees this domain. 5. Membership: A fluctuating area at present as members come to terms of what has happened over ten months. Each sub-committee has its convenor and other executive members are appointed to assist. All groups meet once a month. On the 24th June members attended the Canterbury Regional Conference organised by Ashburton SeniorNet. Congratulations on a well run function. The guest speakers were Grant Sidaway Federation CEO and a gentleman from Noel Leeming. Grant brought us all up to date with Federation objectives for the year. We have volunteered to run the next Regional Conference in Christchurch November 2011. Until next month please take care support one another and the SIG groups are a good way of doing this.
Kind regards
